What areas do you service?
GLE Electrical Services NSW is based in Orange and services a wide area across Central West and Far West New South Wales, including Orange, Bathurst, Blayney, Lithgow, Cowra, Canowindra, Cargo, Dubbo, Coonamble, Walgett, Burren Junction, and Lightning Ridge. If you are outside these areas, give us a call and we will advise whether we are able to assist with your requirements.
How long has GLE Electrical Services NSW been operating?
GLE Electrical Services NSW was established in 2017 and is a family-owned and operated business. Our team brings over 16 years of industry experience across residential, commercial, rural, and Level 2 accredited electrical work. That depth of experience means we can tackle a broad range of electrical projects with confidence and deliver results that stand the test of time.
Services & Work Types
What is a Level 2 Accredited Service Provider and why does it matter?
A Level 2 Accredited Service Provider (ASP) is an electrician who has been authorised by the NSW electricity distributors—Ausgrid and Essential Energy—to carry out work on metered and unmetered assets connected to the distribution network. This includes underground and overhead service connections, service pole construction, and trenching. Standard licensed electricians are not authorised to carry out this type of work. GLE Electrical Services NSW holds Level 2 accreditation, which allows us to manage a wider scope of electrical work and offer a more complete service to our clients—particularly on rural properties and new connections that require network infrastructure work.
Can you rewire an older home?
Yes. Rewiring is one of our core residential services. Older homes throughout the Central West often have wiring that no longer meets current Australian standards—including older rubber-insulated or aluminium wiring that can become brittle and dangerous over time. Our rewiring service upgrades your home's electrical installation to modern standards, improving safety, reliability, and compliance. We will assess your existing wiring and provide a clear quote for the work required before anything proceeds.
Do you carry out switchboard upgrades?
Yes. Switchboard upgrades are a common and important service for both older homes and properties where electrical demand has grown over time. Older switchboards with ceramic fuses provide insufficient protection by modern standards and do not comply with current requirements. We upgrade switchboards to modern installations with safety switches (RCDs) and circuit breakers, improving protection against electric shock and electrical fires. A switchboard upgrade is also often required before adding new circuits, installing solar, or connecting electric vehicle chargers.
Do you do electrical work on farms and rural properties?
Absolutely. Rural and farm electrical work is a significant part of what we do at GLE Electrical Services NSW. We service farms, grazing properties, sheds, pump stations, irrigation systems, grain handling facilities, and feedlot operations across the region. We understand the demands of rural properties — the distances involved, the exposure to the elements, and the critical importance of reliable power to agricultural operations. Our Level 2 accreditation also allows us to carry out service connections and infrastructure work on rural properties that require network-level electrical access.
Can you help with electrical work for an insurance claim?
Yes. GLE Electrical Services NSW provides electrical services for insurance-related work, including make safes, repairs, and the issuing of compliance certificates. When a property has been damaged by fire, storm, flood, or another event that has affected the electrical installation, a make safe is typically required before any other trades can safely enter the building. We respond rapidly to make-safe requests and work with property owners and insurers throughout the repair and reinstatement process. We provide all necessary documentation, including Certificates of Compliance for Electrical Work, to support the insurance claim.
Practical Questions
How do I know if my electrical issue is an emergency?
You should treat an electrical situation as an emergency and call us immediately if you notice any of the following: burning smell or visible scorching near power points, switchboards, or wiring; sparking from an outlet, appliance, or switchboard; a circuit that keeps tripping despite no obvious cause; power loss to part or all of your property following a storm or other event; water contact with electrical equipment or wiring; or any situation where you feel unsafe around the electrical installation in your home or business. When in doubt, do not attempt to investigate the issue yourself—call GLE Electrical Services NSW on 0428 890 371, and we will advise you on the safest course of action.
What is a Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW), and do I need one?
A Certificate of Compliance for Electrical Work (CCEW) is a document issued by the licensed electrical contractor who carried out the work, confirming that the installation has been completed in accordance with Australian standards, relevant wiring rules, and NSW regulatory requirements. GLE Electrical Services NSW issues a CCEW for all completed electrical installations. You may need this certificate for building approval purposes, property sales, insurance claims, or to satisfy the requirements of your electricity distributor. If you are unsure whether a CCEW is required for your job, ask us when you book — we will make sure the correct documentation is provided.
